I know, I have been absent and I’m sorry. Honestly I have been creating delicious new recipes, but they will be going into a recipe book that I’m working on. I have also been doing so much in the way of freezing, canning and preserving many of my own produce as well as other local produce.
For my other exciting news…. I start school this week. Eeek! I am going through to get certified in Culinary Nutrition. Yes I will be learning even more to help all you people and hopefully even more people!
Use Less Chemicals
For the moment I have a new recipe for you. No it isn’t an eating recipe, although everything in it is natural, gluten free and smells absolutely delicious. LOL… You need to remember that some products that go on our skin have gluten in them. So watch your labels. There are also so many chemicals that we are putting on our skin, so please be mindful of them. With everyone washing their hands more than ever and using hand sanitizer, hands are drying out like crazy! Here is my all natural hand cream, which is also great as a lip balm. I have been making this for years! Double duty! This recipe makes a jar. You can easily double or triple the recipe to make extra for gifts! I may or may not have already started my Christmas gifts.
Here is another great all natural cream that has four uses and is only two ingredients!
DIY Natural Hand Cream and Lip Balm
1/4 c. bees wax
1/2 c. shea butter
1/2 c. coconut oil
Take all the ingredients and put them in a double boiler. That’s is a fancy name for a metal bowl on top of a small pot of water. Turn the burner onto low heat. Let all the ingredients melt thoroughly. Pour into a glass jar and let cool. Enjoy your softer hands and lips!
Remember that a little goes a long way!
