Chocolate Avocado Smoothie (Vegan/ Gluten Free/ Paleo/ Dairy Free/ Refined Sugar Free/ Nut Free)

I know…. I’m sorry… I have been away for many months. 2017 was a bit of a rough year. I was going through many different personal issues and really didn’t feel creative. I lost my passion for creating new recipes. I still wanted to keep this blog going for all of you. I wanted and still want you to be able to find great, healthy, allergy free recipes.

With the new year, I am trying to get my passion and drive back. I am looking into my creative self, to find new recipes to bring you. One new way to start a new year is with a healthy breakfast smoothie. This one is full of healthy fats, greens and protein. There is no fruit in this smoothie. I am really trying to learn from years past to not over do it on my fruit. (Even though I love them!! My body is not that thrilled) I hope you love my new chocolate smoothie! I also hope to bring you other new recipes in this coming year!

Happy New Year everyone!!

Chocolate Avocado Smoothie (Vegan/ Gluten Free/ Paleo/ Dairy Free/ Refined Sugar Free/ Nut Free)

  • 1 ripe avocado (pit and skin removed)
  • 2 handfuls of greens (spinach or kale)
  • 2 Tbsp. hemp hearts
  • 2 Tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 scoop of vegan protein powder (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp. raw cacao or cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla (I use my own)
  • 3 c. milk alternative or water (I use my hemp milk for a great a nut free option)
  • Sweetened to taste (I have used stevia, palm sugar and monk sugar)

Put all ingredients into your high powdered blender and blend until smooth. Makes 2 servings. Store any remaining in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 3 days.
