It is March and the time change has happened! After all of the grogginess has passes, we can enjoy later sunsets! We can also enjoy warmer temperatures and more time spent with friends and family outside. I am very much looking forward to bon fires!
With gathering comes more yummy food to share. As you know, I enjoy my food and I LOVE chocolate!!! I also enjoy creating delicious foods that are a healthier alternative. This chocolate avocado brownie hummus is wonderful! Enjoy!
Chocolate Brownie Hummus (Gluten Free/ Dairy Free/ Vegan/ Refined Sugar Free)
1 can chickpeas- drained and rinsed
1 ripe avocado
1/3 c. cocoa
2/3 c. coconut palm sugar or desired sweetener**
1/4 tsp. sea salt
1-2 Tbsp. milk alternative**
Put all of your ingredients except your milk into a food processor or high speed blender. Blend until smooth, scraping the sides as necessary and adding your milk alternative as needed. Serve with fruit and gluten free crackers. Store in the refrigerator in a covered container for up to four days. Freezes well.
**If you are using a liquid sweetener like maple syrup, then you will not need the milk alternative.
